- Job Title: Associate Area Manager
- Location: Milpitas, CA
JOB SUMMARY
Manage daily operations of sites within an assigned territory to ensure the delivery of high-quality service to clients. This role is responsible for client and employee retention, crew productivity, and workplace safety. This position manages a reduced client portfolio compared to an Area Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Landscape Architecture, or Horticulture, or equivalent work experience
- At least 3 years of related work experience
- As required by state and federal law
- Valid driver’s license issued by the state where employed
- Commercial Pesticide Applicator License, or ability to obtain within 1 year
- Certified Landscape Technician (CLT), or ability to obtain within 1 year
- Strong relationship-building and customer service skills
- Strong management and leadership skills
- Experience working with commercial property managers preferred
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to operate commercial landscape equipment and tools
- Working knowledge of irrigation repairs, including controller monitoring and adjustment
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and perform well under deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and flexibility
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, and schedule-based instructions
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English
- Ability to speak effectively before employees and clients
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred, including the ability to read, interpret, and translate documents and verbal presentations

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Serve as the primary client point of contact for day-to-day site issues; proactively identify, address, and resolve client needs
- Conduct walkthroughs with clients and other company representatives as appropriate
- Schedule, assign, and direct production teams to ensure services are delivered according to contract specifications, budget, schedule, and quality standards
- Clearly communicate daily tasks and expectations to production teams
- Assess labor needs and execute labor plans, including hiring and termination decisions as needed
- Demonstrate strong leadership by building morale, recognizing employee achievements, and fostering professional development
- Review and approve timecards to ensure accurate and timely payroll submission
- Analyze cost reports and budget variances related to contract projects
- Monitor sites for quality and identify opportunities for maintenance, irrigation, and enhancement upgrades
- Collaborate with Service & Operations Support to propose, track, and close minor enhancement projects, including final review prior to client communication
- Partner closely with Project Managers on client communication, site expectations, and capital or large-scale projects
- Meet or exceed annual sales goals
- Ensure safety compliance through training, meetings, and regular job site inspections
- Maintain timely, accurate, and thorough documentation of coaching, counseling, and performance management discussions
- Promote adherence to company policies and best practices
- Direct team activities, including task prioritization, labor hour management, scheduling, tracking assignments, and ensuring resource availability
- Resolve problems as they arise
- Recommend potential clients to the Business Development team based on existing relationships
- Perform other duties as assigned

Please note that the salary information shown below is provided in compliance with state specific laws. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations, and therefore may be different in other locations or operating divisions.
Pay range: $70,304 - $80,304 (determined on experience)
Commission: 1% - 2% commission paid on ancillary gross margin sales
