What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Manager position at JENSEN INFRASTRUCTURE?
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Reporting to our Senior VP of operations, the General Manager is responsible for safety, sales and P&L delivery, customer satisfaction and employee engagement for our precast manufacturing facility. This position is also responsible for upholding the ethical standards and reputation of the organization in the community.
A highlight of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Developing and delivering business plans to achieve budgeted sales, operational throughput and required profits. This includes developing plans for manpower, training, equipment maintenance/upgrades, organizational structure, marketing, and budgeting.

Building the business unit to achieve the company’s standard of absolute reliability on delivery dates. Reviewing customer orders/satisfaction daily and resolving issues. Calling customers proactively to communicate misses and to check on satisfaction.

Providing direct leadership to the operations, purchasing, engineering, sales, and administrative teams to ensure all established goals are achieved.

Collaborating with corporate HR to develop effective succession plans for new and emerging leaders of the business.

Ensuring that the overall Environment, Health, and Safety culture, and program (and associated training, inspection, and enforcement systems) exist, and the necessary resources are provided.

Ensuring successful operational health including, but not limited to, all inventory accuracy, planning, scheduling, and execution of projects, ensuring their timely completion & delivery.

Coordinating with the Marketing team to implement digital and media strategy in local market. Ensuring proper use of all brand standards and marks.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate will bring to this position a demonstrated history of operations excellence, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Additional candidate attributes include but are not limited to:

Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, engineering, or related field and 7 – 10 years’ experience. P&L responsibility and operations experience preferred.

Experienced in organizational development practices including talent acquisition and development, succession planning and performance management. Proven developer of highly productive and deep teams.

Experience taking new product development projects from concept to reality is preferred.

Knowledge of metal design, crane design, rigging, and lifting preferred.

Exhibits a continuous improvement mindset. Experienced in creating/managing a data driven department or business unit including building standard work and Key Performance Indicators.

Proven experience managing/building effective relationships with employees and other leaders across the enterprise. Collaborative, effective communicator and relationship builder.

Experienced in commercial activities including new business development, pricing, negotiations, and contract development.
