Responsibilities
- Safely bathe, dry, brush, and groom dogs of various breeds and sizes according to established standards and client preferences
- Assist with dog handling and restraint to ensure safe grooming sessions for pets and staff
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools, workstations, and bathing areas to promote hygiene and safety
- Observe animals during grooming for signs of health issues or distress, reporting concerns to senior staff or veterinary professionals as needed
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about grooming needs and pet care tips
- Support pet care activities such as feeding, walking, or kennel cleaning when necessary
- Handle heavy lifting of animals or equipment with proper technique to prevent injury
Qualifications
- Prior experience in pet grooming or animal handling is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and veterinary experience is a plus
- Familiarity with animal restraint techniques and pet care procedures is highly desirable
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
- Ability to handle animals gently yet confidently, ensuring their comfort and safety during grooming processes
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods throughout the workday
- Previous experience as a veterinary technician or assistant, kennel worker, or with equine or other animal care roles will be considered an asset
