New York based designer, Jenny Yoo launched her first bridesmaid’s collection in November 2002. Jenny’s clear vision and motivation for redefining today’s bridesmaids has driven her company’s rapid success in the bridal industry. Jenny understands that while weddings are a tradition, rules can and need to be modified. Her modern yet elegant designs emphasize her philosophy that one must evolve with the footsteps of today’s changing times.

In 2006, Jenny launched her premiere bridal collection using a similar philosophy. In 2016, she launched Jenny by Jenny Yoo for a younger spirited bride. Both bridal collections are designed for brides with confident sophistication and effortless style. Jenny uses rich, luxurious, and fluid fabrics, often adding delicate embroideries and textural applique details.

Jenny Yoo bridal gowns and bridesmaids’ dresses can be found in over 240 select salons in the Unites States and internationally, as well as through premium retailers like BHLDN. The Jenny Yoo Collection, Inc. corporate headquarters and flagship salon are both located in New York City


SALARY RANGE

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

Fabric Development  

  • Test fabrics according to quality checking guidelines 
  • Make sure FDS and standard sheet is complete and upkept for each fabric and colorway 

Fabric Sourcing (under supervision of Fabric Director) 

  • Responsible for development fabric and corresponding lining sourcing  
  • Help prepare, send out, and follow up on existing sourcing requests and new sourcing requests.  
  • Ensure all sourcing requests are in line with design and style objectives, and received and reviewed with Fabric Director and Designers within a timely manner  
  • Fabric Ordering and Receiving  
  • Pass FDS’s, factory location, and colorway information to Fabric Team Member for upload to PLM 
  • Place, follow up on via email, and receive purchase orders in company ordering system in line with development calendar, as instructed. 
  • Pass off all PO’s, lab dips, and standard sheets to pre-production Fabric Team Member to order replenishment sampling materials. 
  • Follow fabric standard and order procedures when ordering sampling materials to factory locations and NYC office.  
  • Roll fabrics that arrive to NYC office. 
  • Ensure shipments from suppliers to factory are economical and timely.  
  • Review invoices with Fabric Director for approval and email to AP team for payment. 
  • Email Technical Design team Designers when items are received and what style they correspond to, if applicable. 
  • Update seasonal fabric cheat sheet with inventory, pricing, MOQ, ETAs. 

Color Development and Lab Dips  

  • Organize, request, and follow up on lab dips for new development materials. 
  • Assist in preparing colorway pitch sheets as needed for each season.  
  • Assist in advising color comments on each print in collaboration with Design Manager and Fabric Director 

Design Presentations  

  • Ensure all presentation materials – digital and physical-- are flawless, accurate, up-to-date and organized 
  • Upload and organize fabric photo and information for presentation materials  
  • Send swatches to teams before Company-wide reviews  

PLM  

  • Responsible for taking all images of new fabrics, components, trims, artwork.  
  • Add images to seasonal folder for upload to PLM. 
  • Update PLM and alert teams for any component article revisions during development.   

Planning and Collaboration 

  • Stick to deadlines for fabric and artwork development as assigned by Fabric Director. 
  • Check in with Fabric Director on weekly deadlines and any concerns. 
  • Alert applicable teams of any delays or complications. 


REQUIRED SKILLS  

o  Bachelor’s degree in Textiles, Product Development, or related major preferred 

o  Extremely organized and superior attention to detail. 

o  Demonstrates collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team 

o  Clear and effective written and verbal communication  

o  Ability to learn PLM and Business Management Software programs 

o  Strong analytical, interpersonal, problem-solving, and flexible project management skills 

o  Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, Google applications 

o  Ability to lift 15-20 lbs, occasionally (fabric rolls & shipments)
