Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Construction Foreman role located in Catonsville, MD. The Construction Foreman oversees daily field operations, coordinates crews and subcontractors, and ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards. Responsibilities include planning and assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and resolving issues that arise on the job site. The role involves reading and interpreting drawings and specifications, inspecting work for compliance, and maintaining accurate records such as daily reports and time logs. The Construction Foreman also participates in site meetings, communicates clearly with project managers and vendors, enforces safety protocols, and supports training and mentoring of less experienced crew members.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in carpentry and related trades, with the ability to guide and support crew members performing structural and finish work.
- Experience with quality control, including inspecting work, verifying compliance with plans and specifications, and addressing deficiencies promptly.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operations and coordination, ensuring safe and efficient use of machinery on site.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with crew members, subcontractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
- Understanding of civil engineering concepts as they apply to site layout, grading, foundations, and structural work is beneficial.
- Previous experience as a foreman, lead, or supervisor in construction or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety practices, regulatory compliance, and OSHA standards.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and adapt to changing site conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certifications in construction management or a skilled trade are a plus.
