Are You Someone Who Takes Initiative and Enjoys a Challenge?
We're looking for an energetic, dependable, and motivated individual to join our privately owned optometry practice in a unique role we call our "Super Technician."
This position combines clinical optometric technician duties with optical sales and patient assistance. You'll be involved in nearly every aspect of the patient experience, from preparing patients for eye exams to helping them select their new eyewear.
Experience is NOT required. We can teach you the skills. What we need from you is initiative, enthusiasm, excellent people skills, and a genuine desire to learn.
What You'll Do
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for examinations by performing pretests, including autorefraction, Optomap imaging, eye pressure measurements, visual acuity, and medical histories.
- Perform advanced diagnostic testing, including OCT, topography, visual fields, and dry eye evaluations.
- Assist with specialty dry eye treatments.
- Teach patients how to insert, remove, and care for various types of contact lenses.
- Manage contact lens ordering and tracking.
Optical Responsibilities:
- Help patients select eyeglass frames, lenses, and treatment options.
- Explain eyewear recommendations and assist patients with purchasing decisions.
- Take optical measurements, fit and adjust frames, and provide excellent customer service.
Team Responsibilities:
- Help wherever needed to keep the office running efficiently.
- Anticipate tasks without waiting to be told what to do.
- Work cooperatively with coworkers while maintaining an exceptional patient experience.
Who Will Succeed Here?
We're looking for someone who:
- Takes initiative and stays productive without constant supervision.
- Enjoys interacting with people and communicates confidently.
- Loves learning and takes pride in mastering new skills.
- Is dependable, punctual, detail-oriented, and accountable.
- Adapts easily and willingly helps in different areas of the practice.
- Welcomes feedback and continually looks for ways to improve.
- Wants a long-term position, not just another short stop between jobs.
This Position Is NOT for Everyone
If you're looking for an easy job with limited responsibilities, prefer to avoid interacting with people, need constant direction, or are uncomfortable learning new things, this will not be the right fit.
We take patient care, teamwork, reliability, and professionalism seriously. We want someone who shares those values and is excited about becoming an important member of our team.
