POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Dietetic Technician
Department: Nursing Administration
Reports to: Chief Nursing Officer
Qualifications
Completion of an accredited Dietetic Technology Program and registration with the American Dietetic Association. Experience in long-term care preferred.
Position Information: Part Time, 24.0 hours per week
Essential Functions
- Ability to assess and document the nutritional needs of each resident in accordance with the resident's comprehensive assessment and care plan.
- Ability to counsel residents regarding dietary likes and dislikes, appetite, food habits and therapeutic menus.
- Ability to act as a liaison between the Culinary Department and residents.
- Ability to consistently work cooperatively with Culinary staff members.
- Ability to approve all permanent menu substitutions.
- Ability to assess and document residents’ cultural backgrounds that may affect food consumption
- Ability to perform other duties as directed by the Dietician or the Chief Nursing Officer
- Ability to observe infection control procedures.
- Ability to be responsible for the safety of residents under his/her supervision.
- Ability to follow Resident’s Rights policies at all times.

- Ability to understand and comply with the Corporate Compliance program.
