Position: Counselor, Elementary
Location: Jennie Reid Elementary
Plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive program of guidance, including counseling services to school assigned. Use a planning process to define needs and priorities of the population served. Provide a proactive, developmental guidance and counseling program for all students to maximize personal, academic, social, and emotional growth and development.
Job Qualifications:
- Three (3) years of successful teaching experience
- Master's Degree
- Valid Texas SBEC Counselor's certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Knowledge of counseling protocols and procedures
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Teach campus developmental guidance curriculum consistent with district’s guidance program plan and tailored to campus needs
- Plan school guidance and counseling programs to ensure programs meet identified needs, priorities, and objectives
- Counsel individual students and small groups with presenting needs and concerns
- Supervise assigned paraprofessional/clerical staff, as needed

The District contributes $400/month to the cost of employee only health insurance, which is $175/month greater than the state required amount of $225/month.

Salary Information:
Minimum: $63,818
Midpoint: $76,022
Assignment: 11 Duty Months/195 Duty Days
Pay Grade: Professional, PG3
