Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and machinery. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of construction, industrial, and farm machinery. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills to keep operations running smoothly. Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, brakes, suspension, air brakes, and HVAC systems to identify issues accurately.
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, construction machinery, and farm equipment using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts and schematics.
  • Fabricate and modify components as needed to ensure proper fitment and functionality of machinery parts.
  • Troubleshoot complex equipment problems through electrical diagnostics and automotive diagnostics techniques.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and other maintenance instruments to complete repairs efficiently.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to extend the lifespan of vehicles and equipment.
  • Assist with assembly and disassembly of machinery during repairs or upgrades while adhering to safety standards.
  • Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely when handling large components or machinery parts.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair findings clearly and offering solutions for ongoing maintenance needs.
  • Maintain detailed service records, repair logs, and inspection reports for accountability and future reference.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician with a strong background in construction machinery maintenance or industrial equipment servicing.
  • Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with OEM parts and repair procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding and metalworking.
  • Skilled in diagnosing issues with excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, HVAC systems, electrical systems, suspensions, powertrains, air brakes, hydraulics, steering components, tires/tire service, transmissions, and diesel engine repairs.
  • Proficient in reading schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems effectively.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment safely during diagnostics or repairs when necessary.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to use various hand tools and power tools effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety compliance and quality workmanship.
  • Prior experience working with construction equipment or farm machinery is a plus.
