JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for responsible for processing and maintaining accounts payable records, reconciling vendor statements, and ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares monthly commission reports that align with company’s commission plans
- Communicating with employees with resolving discrepancies with commission payments
- Post bi-weekly payroll into accounting system
- Administer company credit cards per company policy
- Review and approve corporate credit card expenses
- Prepare and send weekly accounts payable pending report
- Process weekly accounts payable check run and run appropriate reporting
- Reclass cost requested by operations within policy
- Process and submit annual 1099 filings
- Assist with annual personal property tax filings
- Assist with quarterly sales tax filing
- Support department with special projects
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- 4 year degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to GAAP
- Highly proficient with accounting and HRIS and payroll software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Job costing with construction background preferred, but not required
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Demonstrate the ability to write routine reports, correspondence and the ability to speak effectively to customers and/or employees of an organization.
REASONING ABILITY:
This person should possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. They should also have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form in the English language.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position will be based in a typical office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. visits to residential construction work sites.
