Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented General Handyman/Interior and Finish Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of interior finishing tasks, carpentry work, and general maintenance across residential and commercial projects. Duties
- Read and interpret construction plans.
- Install drywall, trim, molding, flooring, siding, doors, fixtures, and other wood or metal components according to specifications.
- Operate hand tools and power tools for woodworking, framing, masonry, roofing, plastering, rebar installation, and concrete forming.
- Perform repairs related to water damage restoration, mold remediation, caulking, heavy lifting, and general maintenance on various building surfaces.
- Assist with construction estimating by measuring materials needed and preparing basic cost assessments.
- Ensure power tool safety protocols are followed at all times while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with team members to interpret technical drawings and ensure project specifications are met efficiently.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction with a strong background in residential and commercial carpentry and interior finish work.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings or schematics.
- Skilled in using hand tools (saws, hammers, chisels) and power tools for woodworking and construction tasks.
- Knowledge of various wood construction materials including drywall, siding, flooring materials, and fixtures.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper body mechanics.
- Experience with remodeling projects such as flooring installation, fixture mounting, masonry work, roofing repairs, and water damage restoration.
- Understanding of construction site safety standards including power tool safety practices.
- Competence in interpreting technical plans for projects involving rebar installation or concrete forming.
- Strong handyman skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly on-site.
