Employee: Quality Assurance Technician IFLSA Status: Non-ExemptReports to: Quality Engineer/ISO CoordinatorTravel: 0%Qualifications:A quality assurance technician must have a process approach, strong attention to detail and be able to read drawings and follow a bill of materials to determine the specifications of parts and materials. The inspector must be experienced in the use of test equipment, measuring devices and computers to document information.A quality assurance technician must be able to communicate with immediate supervisor and employees on the production floor and be able to stop the production process when he/she finds defects or flaws in the parts or processes.High school diploma is required and a certification or an associate degree in quality assurance is preferred.Job Purpose:A Quality Assurance Technician monitors incoming part specifications for compliance, conducts in-process inspection during the production process to determine if the part assemblies and final goods have any defects or deviate from specifications.Essential Functions:·         Use measuring equipment such as calipers to ensure that a part meets specifications.·         Use microscopes and magnification lights for visual inspection of parts and product.·         Use test equipment to determine if a part functions properly and meets customer specifications.·         Inspect parts visually for cosmetic defects and tests the functionality of a part or product.·         Document information resulting from inspections, which may be used to determine sampling quantities on future inspections.·         Examine materials and parts from suppliers to ensure compliance with specifications.·         Inspect the final product prior delivery to customers.·         Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed parts, recalls, corrective/preventative actions, and supplier corrective actions.·         Maintain calibration of all measuring equipment up to date and available for use.·         Evaluate vendor performance on raw material and parts used to build a final product.·         Assess suppliers for on-time delivery of parts delivered.·         Assist the JEM team with any Quality needs or other duties as assigned by management.·         Carry out activities oriented in compliance with the established quality management system.·         All employees are responsible for prioritizing customer needs and ensuring customer requirements are met.  Customer satisfaction shall be a priority.Performance Factors:1.      Attendance and Dependability: The employee can be depended upon to report to work at the scheduled time and is seldom absent from work. Salary : $50,000 - $52,000
