We are currently seeking a bright, motivated Mechanical Engineer II to join our team in Laurel, MD.
Job Description
The Mechanical Engineer II will:
· Support JEM Engineering’s product design and manufacturing groups.
· Work within the Mechanical Engineering department and interface with Electrical RF Engineers, Production and Quality personnel, customers, and suppliers.
· Develop new designs, fabricate prototypes, create and implement test procedures, and support initial production launches.
· Create accurate 3D CAD designs, 2D fabrication drawings, specifications, BOM’s, and assembly documentation.
· Understand and apply customer requirements, applicable standards, and specifications to create, validate, and document compliant products.
· Assist in the procurement, fabrication, and assembly of components and fixtures.
· Contribute to continuous product improvement, implementing engineering changes and other Configuration Management processes.
Qualifications:
Required:
· BSME with 2 years work experience, BS in a related engineering discipline, and/or equivalent work experience.
· Proficient with 2D and 3D CAD (SolidWorks).
· Ability to apply engineering principles to electromechanical product design and manufacturing.
· Understanding of drafting standards and configuration management.
· Practical knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processes.
· Practical knowledge of standard hardware and components
· Ability to use shop tools.
· Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
Preferred:
· Experience with structural finite element analysis (SolidWorks Simulation)
· Experience with thermal finite element analysis (SolidWorks Simulation)
· Experience in RF electronics and/or antenna industry
Job Details:
· Location: Full time on-site in Laurel, MD
· Travel: <15%
