Production Development and Sourcing Manager

About the Role
We're looking for a solution-oriented, well-organized manager with a can-do attitude to join our team in our new Woodbridge, NJ office. You'll work closely with an experienced, collaborative team — both domestically and internationally — sourcing and developing products across multiple brands in home, kitchen, and consumer electronics categories.
What You'll Do
Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Source new products across multiple brands in home, kitchen, and consumer electronics categories
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors and factories across sourcing regions
- Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic vendors and factories
- Negotiate costing and terms at the factory level; review cost breakdowns
- Assess vendor capabilities, capacity, and compliance to support sourcing decisions
- Monitor production and minimum order quantity issues; manage liability reports
Communication & Coordination
- Lead production and time/action meetings
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, agents, and direct vendors to keep products on track
- Liaise with internal teams and overseas partners on technical construction and manufacturing details
- Track approvals and communicate deadlines to ensure on-time delivery
- Partner with cross-functional teams from concept through delivery
Product Development & Production
- Attend meetings, presentations, and QA reviews
- Manage R&D for new home and consumer electronics products directly with factories and overseas offices
- Manage proto and presentation sample requests — including shipping, spec packs, and vendor follow-up
- Track samples to meet ETA deadlines, following up on costing, photos, and testing for all styles
- Communicate FOB cost targets to vendors and prepare counter-costing packages as needed
- Create and maintain cost sheets
- Ensure timely delivery of photo samples
- Review production reports for accuracy
- Ensure production procedures are followed correctly
- Track time and action data to stay aligned with the corporate production calendar
Market Awareness
- Conduct competitive analysis and sourcing market research to identify cost-saving opportunities across product categories
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent self-starter experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and other tracking/learning tools
- Import and sourcing experience across China, Mexico, Thailand, Indonesia, and other regions
- Experience sourcing across multiple brands and product categories, ideally including consumer electronics
- Strong written communication skills, including using photos and examples to clarify details
- Proven vendor relationship-building and negotiation skills
- Experience tracking purchase orders, QA status, and confirmed shipment dates
- Familiarity with sample categorization (pre-production, production, reference, etc.)
- Understanding of testing procedures and tracking
