As the General Manager, you'll be the guiding force behind our mission of “Creating S’more Memories and Time Together.”
Job Overview
As General Manager, you will oversee every aspect of resort operations—delivering an exceptional guest experience, ensuring safety, managing financials, leading staff, and coordinating engaging, themed activities. You’ll represent the park’s values, foster a welcoming atmosphere, and drive both operational excellence and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities: Operational Leadership
· Oversee day-to-day operations of the campground, rental units, attractions, retail, activities, and guest check-in/check-out.
· Ensure compliance with resort policies—e.g., check-in/check-out procedures, visitor registration, quiet hours, firewood restrictions, pet policies, pool safety, and more.
· Monitor health, safety, and sanitation standards across facilities.
Guest Experience & Activities
· Maintain a fun, safe, and family-friendly environment. Supervise character appearances and themed activities.
· Ensure all resort policies are enforced consistently and fairly: quiet hours, pets, daytime visitor access, vehicle usage, and smoking/drug policies.
Staff & Team Management
· Recruit, hire, train, and supervise all team members—from seasonal staff to department leaders.
· Foster a positive work culture, with effective feedback, coaching, and performance reviews.
· Create staffing strategies tailored to peak season demands, ensuring proper scheduling and staffing levels.
Financial Oversight
· Develop, track, and manage budgets (expenses, labor, revenue, and capital).
· Analyze financial reports, implement cost-control measures, and drive revenue opportunities (e.g., boost rentals, activity participation, merchandise sales).
· Work with vendors and manage capital improvement projects for timely completion within budget.
Marketing & Community Engagement
· Promote the resort locally through partnerships, community events, and digital platforms.
· Collaborate with regional marketing teams or franchise leadership to enhance brand presence and guest awareness.
Administrative & Strategic Oversight
· Implement and uphold franchise standards, company policies, and safety procedures.
· Generate operational and financial reports as required by corporate or ownership.
· Address guest issues promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction and return business.
Qualifications & Skills
· Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in a management role within hospitality, recreation, resort, campground, or similar settings.
· Leadership: Strong leadership and team-building capabilities, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Financial Acumen: Budgeting, cost control, and P&L analysis.
· Customer Focus: Outstanding guest service orientation and conflict resolution skills.
· Operational Expertise: Familiarity with safety, health, maintenance, and sanitation protocols.
· Organization: Exceptional multitasking, organizational, and project management skills.
· Availability: Must be available to work weekends, extended hours, and be on-call during peak periods.
· Peak Season: Expected hours are significantly higher from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
· Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, climb, lift, move around the resort as needed.
· Driver’s License: Valid license required.
· Education: High school diploma required; business or hospitality degree is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $50,000 annually, based on experience.
