Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team! We are a small restaurant group looking for a capable, flexible line cook able to work shifts at the Jeffersonville Bake Shop and Tavern on Main.
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality ingredients and dishes that delight our guests. These are small kitchens where you will work hands on with our Chef and refine your skills and be given opportunities to learn and grow.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients and components of dishes according to standardized recipes and menu specifications, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients with precision using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, stoves, mixers, and food processors.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including end of shift cleaning of the kitchen.
- Follow food handling procedures to ensure safety standards are met at all times, including proper storage, labeling, and sanitation practices.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production, communicate effectively about prep needs and timing.
- Assist with special event preparations as needed.
- Other activities in the kitchen as directed by the Chef
Experience / Skills Needed
- Strong communications skills, good attitude and initiative are essential. We are looking for doers and problem solvers.
- Previous experience working or training in a kitchen.
- Demonstrated knowledge of food safety standards in production environments.
- Strong culinary background with proficiency in food preparation techniques and recipe adherence.
- Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and effectively.
- Ability to get to work on time and reliably all year in all weather.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
