What You Should Know About the Environmental Technician Role:
- 3:00 PM - 11:30PM
- May require an adjustment of schedule to accommodate departmental need.
- This position is based within Jefferson Regional Environmental Services Department
- In this unique setting, daily interactions with a diverse clientele, including hospital staff, physicians, and visitors, are expected
Job Summary:
Environmental Tech is responsible for the basic disinfecting and cleaning of the facility. This position is also responsible for removal of a regular wasted and medical waste alone with boxes and the disposal of equipment and furniture.
Environmental Technician Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of cleaning experience in a hospital setting preferred
- Previous experience in a healthcare facility or commercial cleaning role preferred.
- Knowledge of hospital infection control procedures preferred.
- Must be able to follow all rules and policies within the organization and department.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Effective communication skills
- This position is a Safety Sensitive Position.
