What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Worker position at Jefferson Place Assisted Living?
General maintenance duties for an assisted living facility:
- Inspects the building, grounds, and equipment.
- Handles necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Installs equipment and appliances.
- Follows local and state building codes.
- Complies with all company safety regulations.
- Keeps a maintenance log.
- Reports any issues to the facility manager.
- Responds to repair and maintenance requests in a timely fashion.
- Maintains clean and organized maintenance supply room.
- Follows written and verbal instructions from the facility manager or staff.
- Collaborates with contracted HVAC, Electrical and Plumbing businesses as needed.
- Reads and follows manuals, and other written instructions.
- Uses equipment, including power tools, hand tools, electric tools, and plumbing tools.
- Handles the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting at least 50 pounds.
- Any other duties as assigned by the Facility Manager.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- At least one year of building maintenance, construction, plumbing, or electrician experience is strongly preferred, but not required.
- Must have a driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Schedule:
- 16-20 hours per week.
- 2 to 3 days per week depending upon workload.
Job Type: Part-time
