What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Pharmacist (part time) position at Jefferson Pharmacy?
We are looking for a dedicated and meticulous part-time Staff Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team 1-2 days per week. In this role, you will serve as the final line of defense in patient safety, ensuring every medication dispensed is accurate, appropriate, and understood by the patient. You will combine clinical expertise with strong leadership to manage daily operations and foster a culture of excellence in pharmaceutical care.
Core Responsibilities
- Verification: Perform final clinical and technical checks on all prescriptions to ensure accuracy and patient safety.
- Clinical Consultation: Advise patients on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage; provide vaccinations and health screenings.
- Provider Liaison: Collaborate with physicians to clarify prescriptions, suggest alternative therapies, and resolve insurance hurdles.
- Supervision: Lead and develop pharmacy technicians, ensuring a productive and compliant workflow.
- Regulatory Oversight: Maintain records for controlled substances and ensure the pharmacy meets all DEA, HIPAA, and State Board requirements.
Requirements
- Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree.
- Licensure: Active Pharmacist license in good standing within the state of practice.
- Immunization: Current CPR/BLS and Immunization Certification.
- Competencies: Deep knowledge of pharmacology, clinical judgment, and strong leadership skills.
