Position Description:
Reporting to the Chief of Staff in Office of the Superintendent, the Receptionist assures the smooth operation of the East Bank Building, and assists with administrative duties so that the Chief of Staff may devote maximum attention to central issues of the Office of the Superintendent. The Receptionist shall act as a representative of Jefferson Parish Public School System and have the ability to communicate intelligently with all stakeholders and vendors regarding policies and procedures of the district.
Scope of Responsibility:
- Prioritizes, screens, and distributes all telephone calls and incoming mail for the East Bank Building.
- Manages clerical activities to ensure a routine flow of work, correspondence, requests for information, and coordination with all departments and units.
- Greets visitors upon entering the building and answers inquiries from the general public, administrators, and other personnel for East Bank Building.
- Manages responses to all email correspondence received in the district’s general email account.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief of Staff.
