Title: Assistant Athletic Director:
Minimum Qualifications: Shall have attained or is working toward a Master's Degree in Administration
Possess ability to schedule athletic events and supervise
athletic events
Exhibit knowledge of rules of each sport
Possess knowledge of West Virginia Secondary Schools

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Principal; Athletic Director
Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Cheerleading Coaches, And Event Personnel
The Assistant Athletic Director is responsible for assisting the Athletic Director in the following:
- Leadership and support in area of responsibility
- Establishing and implementing an improvement process for area of responsibility
- Establishing good public and employee relations in area of responsibility
- Maintaining professional work habits
- Maintaining and upgrading his/her professional skills
- Evaluating personnel under his/her supervision
Any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
The following performance standards relate to the responsibilities listed below:
- Leadership and support in area of responsibility: Assist with the following as directed or assigned:
- Schedule all athletic events
- Be responsible for securing transportation for all away contests
- Be responsible for securing officials for all home contests
- Supervise purchase of all athletic equipment
- Be responsible for scheduling use of facilities
- Determine the needs and maintenance of existing facilities
- Purchase and maintain required equipment
- Be responsible for developing and supervising athletic budget with principal's approval
- Coordinate contest management
- Be responsible for ticket sales, programs, and concessions
- Establish good hospitality for visiting schools
- Be responsible for securing security
- Establishing and implementing an improvement process for area of responsibility:
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment
- Exhibit an aptitude in scheduling compatible opponents
- Establishing good public and employee relations in area of responsibility:
- Be accessible to staff, students and parents regarding athletics
- Maintain a positive attitude among administration, coaching staff and faculty
- Maintaining professional work habits:
- Submit reports with accuracy and promptness
- Demonstrate ability to work with people
- Exhibit poise and self-confidence

- Be punctual for athletic events
- Maintaining and upgrading his/her professional skills:
- Attend conferences, seminars, workshops and clinics at the national, state, regional and local level, as assigned
- Maintain and upgrade professional skills by involvement in the following: staff development, reading professional article, advanced degrees, research and professional associations
- Evaluating personnel under his/her supervision:
- Exhibit ability to properly evaluate coaches
- Observe and evaluate head coaches and cheerleader coaches, as assigned
- Provide recommendations and suggestions for improving coaching instruction
