Job Duties
- Design and implement enterprise-level database solutions, ensuring scalability and high availability.
- Manage installation, configuration, upgrades, and capacity planning for large-scale database systems.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery, backup strategies, and implement advanced security and compliance controls.
- Collaborate with developers and architects on database design and integration while mentoring junior DBAs.
- Maintain documentation, prepare performance reports, and optimize queries, indexes, and execution plans.
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5 years related work experience
- Proficiency in relational and cloud database platforms, including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS, and Google Cloud SQL.
- Strong expertise in performance tuning and optimization, including advanced query strategies, indexing, and partitioning, as well as high availability and disaster recovery techniques such as clustering and AlwaysOn Availability Groups.
- In-depth knowledge of security and compliance practices, including encryption, auditing, role-based access control, and familiarity with frameworks such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOX.
- Experience with scripting and automation using T-SQL, PL/SQL, PowerShell, and Bash, along with monitoring tools such as SQL Profiler, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and SolarWinds DPA.
- Understanding of storage and networking fundamentals for database connectivity and optimization.
- Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
