Provide psychology services to the CVA population and provide supervision to neuropsychologists on the inpatient programs at Elkins Park.
Job Description
Essential Functions:
Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
Evaluating patients’ needs, abilities and/or behavior using a variety of methods, including evidence-based pre-screening and assessment tools, clinical interviews and direct observation and documenting in electronic medical record.
Provides education to patients, family members, and an interdisciplinary treatment team regarding the psychological status of the patient
Facilitates group psychological interventions and/or support groups.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop and monitor appropriate treatment plans.
Treating individuals and families on issues including anxiety, depression, addiction, social, and interpersonal disorders, adjustment to disability.
Communicating effectively and interacting with all levels of staff, primary care providers, patients and community agencies.
Facilitates behavior rounds as needed. This includes writing behavioral plans and protocols.
Completes timely documentation and billing of patients served.
Pursues continuing education
Complies with hospital and Network policies regarding confidentiality
Complies with all policies related to Emergency Procedures as defined in the Environment of Care plans. Knows personal role in event of a disaster or emergency.
Provides team leadership for continuity of discharge plans.
Supervisory responsibilities include time card review, performance appraisal completion, staff allocation and PTO approval, recruitment, interviewing, hiring and onboarding of new staff.
Education
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in psychology from an APA accredited university required.
AND
Experience
Experience working with patients with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, amputations, strokes, orthopedic injuries, chronic pain and workers compensation is preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.
Minimum Certifications, Registration Or License Requirements
Licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
