Job Summary
The Correctional Officer plays a critical role in maintaining safety and security within correctional facilities. Duties
- Supervise inmate activities and conduct regular inspections of the facility to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Enforce facility rules and regulations while maintaining order among inmates.
- Prepare detailed reports on inmate behavior, incidents, and any violations of facility policies.
- Respond to emergencies and manage conflicts in a calm and effective manner.
- Monitor surveillance equipment (CCTV) to detect any suspicious activities or potential threats.
- Conduct searches of inmates and their living areas for contraband items.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies as needed to ensure the safety of the facility.
- Provide first aid and CPR when necessary, ensuring the health and safety of all individuals within the facility.
Skills
- Proficient in report writing to document incidents accurately and thoroughly.
- Strong conflict management skills to de-escalate tense situations effectively.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is preferred.
- Background or certification in law enforcement is advantageous.
- Familiarity with CCTV systems for monitoring inmate activities.
- Ability to work in a militarized environment, adhering to strict protocols and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with inmates and staff.

Pay: $10.00 per hour
