What are the responsibilities and job description for the Janitor position at Jefferson Franklin Community Action Corporation?
JFCAC is a Community Action Agency, incorporated in 1965. We provide resources and services to individuals and families in Jefferson and Franklin Counties, in Missouri.
We are looking to add a part-time Janitor to our Team!
JOB SUMMARY:
The Janitor performs a variety of janitorial, custodial and/or maintenance tasks to maintain a clean and safe work environment. They will report to our Jefferson County Office, located in Hillsboro and use a company vehicle to travel to their assigned sites in Franklin County.
MAJOR TASKS:
- Sweeps, vacuums and mops floors and stairs.
- Cleans and sanitize bathrooms daily.
- Cleans sinks, countertops, microwaves, and refrigerators in break rooms.
- Restocks supplies in bathrooms, break rooms and common areas.
- Empties all trash cans and replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary.
- Dusts such items as blinds, furniture, file cabinets and desks that are not cluttered.
- Cleans windowsills and windows.
- Maintains janitor closets in a clean, organized and safe manner.
- Maintains janitorial equipment in a clean, safe and operable condition.
- Provides proper labeling, dilution and use of all chemicals.
- Purchases cleaning supplies as necessary.
- Replaces light bulbs and fuses.
- Assists the Maintenance Manager of general maintenance of grounds including removal of snow from sidewalks and salting of walkways.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS;
- High School or General Education Development (GED) diploma.
- Six months or more of related experience.
- Valid Missouri driver's license.
- General handyman skills preferred. Ex: moving boxes, furniture, hanging pictures, cleaning gutters, washing windows etc....
OTHER REQUIRED CAPABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- As a condition of acceptance to this position, candidate must pass drug screening, criminal background screening, and Driving History Screening.
- Ability to plan and organize work assignments.
- May be required to travel in or out of community with own vehicle.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word and Excel)
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must be a problem-solver, with the ability to think and problem solve on your feet.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs., reach overhead, walk on roofs, drive a vehicle, climb a two-story ladder, and climb through 24" square opening to attics or crawl spaces.
- Must be able to remain on your feet for several hours.
