Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to evaluate nutritional status, medical history, and lifestyle factors.
- Develop individualized care plans that align with patients’ health goals, medical conditions, and dietary needs.
- Provide expert guidance on nutrition topics including dietary management for assisted living residents, tube feeding protocols, and diagnostic evaluation of nutritional deficiencies.
- Oversee the management of specialized nutrition interventions such as tube feeding and other enteral or parenteral nutrition therapies.
- Lead health coaching sessions to motivate and educate patients on healthy eating habits, weight management, and lifestyle modifications.
- Supervise dietary department staff, ensuring adherence to best practices, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to integrate nutrition plans into overall patient care strategies and care plans.
- Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting recommendations based on physiological responses and diagnostic evaluations.
- Manage departmental budgets effectively while maintaining high-quality service delivery.
- Ensure all documentation related to care plans, assessments, and interventions is accurate and up-to-date.
- Supervise the training of new staff members and interns to uphold departmental standards of excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition Science, or a related field; advanced certifications are a plus.
