Emergency Management Program Coordinator

Location: Jefferson County, WA

Emergency Management Program Coordinator

Jefferson County, Department of Emergency Management (DEM) is seeking an Emergency Management Program Coordinator. This position works with the Director and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) members to plan, recruit, onboard and train volunteers. This position also researches, recommends and prepares grant requests and continually works to improve response exercises and training support requests. The Program Coordinator also serves as part of DEM's on-call Duty Officer rotation and is a key member of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) activations for disaster response.

Minimum qualifications: Individual needs to be able to perform this job successfully in each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements are listed on the job description, please see attached, and are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience: Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; and two (2) years in a progressively responsible administrative position, including two (2) years with government emergency response/disaster preparedness experience and/or training; or, High School Diploma or GED and eight (8) years of progressively more responsible experience in a disaster response in a government setting and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation: UFCW Grade 26, 40 hours/week with benefits. Starting pay typically $27.46/hr. DOE. Full hourly range $27.46/hr.-$ 33.77/hr. Full medical benefits, including dental and vision. Retirement provided through Washington State DRS. Paid Time Off (PTO), 11 paid holidays, and bereavement leave. May include evening and weekend hours.
