JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Sponsor

Minimum Qualifications: Teacher certification as required by the state.

Recommended by Principal

Presently employed as a teacher at the High or Middle School.

Immediate Supervisor(s): Principal

Supervises: Students in group or organization

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The sponsor will be responsible for the following:

• Leadership and support in area of responsibility.
• Establishing and implementing an improvement process for area of responsibility.
• Establishing good public and employee relations in area of responsibility.
• Maintaining professional work habits.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

The following performance standards relate to the responsibilities listed below:

• Leadership and support in area of responsibility:

• Supervise meetings
• Chaperone students at all activities performed by the organization
• Arrange for transportation for group activities
• Oversee the operation of and complete all necessary forms relating to activities, fund raisers, etc. in which the group participates
• Work with the principal to insure that high academic and social standards are achieved and maintained.

• Establishing and implementing an improvement process for area of responsibility:

• Establish guidelines for appropriate conduct.

• Establishing good public and employee relations in area of responsibility:

• Be accessible to students and parents.

• Maintaining professional work habits:

• Be punctual for all organizational activities
• Demonstrate professional attitude by responding to suggestions and constructive criticism in a positive manner.
• Work cooperatively with administration and school staff.
• Maintain a professional appearance.
• Maintain poise and self-control during contests and practice.
