POSITION: Child Nutrition and Wellness Coordinator
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Child Nutrition
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
EMPLOYMENT TERM: Minimum 200 days annually, pursuant to WV Code §18-5-45; extended employment terms established by JCBOE. Currently a 240- day employment
SALARY: Pursuant to WV Code §18A-4-2, in accordance with Jefferson County Professional Salary Schedule, commensurate with experience and education level. Professional 2nd Tier.
EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated by the Deputy Superintendent of Operations and in accordance with WV State Code §18A-2-12, WV State Board Policy 5310, and JCBOE Evaluation Policy
JOB SUMMARY: Works under minimal supervision and capable of supporting all aspects of the Child Nutrition Department. Primary responsibilities will include assisting the child nutrition office with administrative tasks and ensure the rules and regulations of the NSLP, SFSP, and snack program are maintained, and overseeing the JCS wellness policy. Remote/virtual work assignments available at times if mutually agreed upon by both employee and Deputy Superintendent of Operations.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor all Securetemps temperature sensors and gateways in Kitchens & Warehouse
- Oversee JCS Wellness Program
- Ensure our wellness program is compliant with state and federal regulations
- Setup vendors and items for inventory
- Maintain ingredients and recipes for menu planning
- Help Coordinate menus within Thrillshare/Nutrislice/Menu Planning
- Train and assist Café Managers on inventory and menu planning
- Order, receipt, and maintain inventory for warehouse
- Plan monthly delivery schedule for warehouse of commodity goods
- Update attendance rates on a monthly basis
- Assist with payment processing
- Assist with Free & Reduced applications and student eligibility (if needed)
- Train and assist POS secretaries on ExpressPoint terminals
- Maintain menu items in Nutrislice
- Create and maintain all menus in Nutrislice
- Keep track of FFVP grant money for schools
- Procure items and information packets for FFVP
- Create and maintain user groups in Microsoft Teams
- Setup pages used to share information with all user groups in Microsoft Teams
- ServSafe – Proctor SERV safe testing and conduct cook food safety training sessions
- Conduct on site monitoring reviews of breakfast, lunch, and snack programs
- Provide meals per cook data on a monthly basis
- Update student profiles with current school pictures
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of special diet student tracking application
- Conduct Staff development and training sessions with cooks
- Systems & Technology Coordinator for Child Nutrition and Wellness

Summer Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Maintain and update all Café Manager PCs and printers for school year startup
- Maintain and update all POS PCs/biometric finger scanners for school year startup
- Identimetrics (Biometric Finger Scanning) - Archive and run promotion of student data at the distributor level, import new fiscal year student data at the distributor level, and synchronize new fiscal year student data with all biometric engines (school level)
- Primero - Verify and reconcile all kitchen inventory items from school close out, ensure POS terminals are functioning for Summer Feeding Program, setup new inventory items for vendors, update GTIN Inventory item data, update UPC Inventory item data, update Bid Pricing Inventory item data, setup new ingredients for menu planning, and assign menus for Production Plans for new school year
- Nutrislice - Setup new inventory items in food database and assign menus for new school year
- Provide updated food and inventory costs for past school year
- Assist with setting food and inventory budgets for each school for the new fiscal year
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of 5 year’s work experience with office management, Child Nutrition management a plus. Successful candidate should be ANSI food safety certified and SERV Safe Proctor certified. solid history of work with point of service and menu software is a plus.
