POSITION SUMMARY
The reading teacher promotes and develops successful reading instruction for students and performs related duties in accordance with District policies and terms of the teacher contract. The Reading Teacher is responsible for group and individual instruction of reading for students and consistently measures and evaluates student progress. The Reading Teacher will also partner with families through collaboration, communication, and education.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE (Minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelor's Degree
- Oregon Teaching License with Reading Endorsement for Secondary.
- Have standards of moral character as required of all Oregon licensed educations (OAR 584-005-0005)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters Degree
- 3 years of experience teaching in a public school setting
- Bilingual Spanish
COMPENSATION
- Salary: $52,317-$102,607
- Medical, dental and vision insurance
- Life insurance, AD&D, Long term disability included (Optional insurances available)
- Personal and Sick days
- JCSD 509-J pays the employee's share (6%) of the Public Employees Retirement System Contribution
