Position Title: 2026-2027 Part-Time CTE Seamless Transitions & Work-Based Learning Coordinator
Reports To: CTE Supervisor
Employment Status: Part-Time (120 Days)
Position Overview
The Part-Time CTE Seamless Transitions and Work-Based Learning (WBL) Coordinator supports the Career and Technical Education Department in expanding high-quality work-based learning opportunities and strengthening seamless transitions for students from high school to postsecondary education and the workforce. The coordinator assists with the management of Work-Based Learning Personalized Learning Plans (PLPs), employer partnerships, and student leadership initiatives while ensuring compliance with Tennessee Work-Based Learning policies and child labor laws.
Qualifications
- Valid Tennessee teaching license with appropriate endorsements
- Current Work-Based Learning (WBL) endorsement
- Minimum of five (5) years of classroom teaching experience
- Demonstrated experience supporting student transitions across grade levels and into postsecondary opportunities
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, students, and community partners
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work-Based Learning Coordination
- Assist the Career and Technical Education Department with Work-Based Learning PLP management.
- Conduct student work-site visits in Jefferson County and surrounding counties.
- Manage Personalized Learning Plans (PLPs) in accordance with Tennessee Child Labor Law and Work-Based Learning policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure required PLP forms are current and on file at both the workplace and school.
- Support WBL coordination in collaboration with instructors, administrators, and the district WBL coordinator.
CTE Program Support
- Assist with planning and implementation of key CTE events including Advisory Council meetings, career fairs, tours, and professional development activities.
CTE Ambassador Program
- Serve as the staff liaison for the CTE Ambassador program.
- Develop and support a student leadership team to assist with tours, recruitment, and special events.
- Oversee the CTE Ambassador application and selection process.
- Collaborate with the CTE Supervisor to coordinate ambassador participation in district and community events.
