POSITION OVERVIEW: (non-exempt)
The Graphic Design & Marketing Intern will assist in developing engaging and brand-consistent visual and written content that supports JCHC’s internal and external communications. This position is ideal for a student or early professional interested in gaining real-world experience in healthcare marketing, design, and communications. The intern will work 12-20 hours per week on a flexible schedule, with the option to work remotely, while some on-site work may be required for specific projects or events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign); video editing skills a plus
- Strong visual design sense and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and balance multiple projects
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Reports to Marketing and Community Relations Manager
DIRECT REPORTS:

POSITION-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
- Assist in creating marketing and communication materials, including flyers, posters, social media graphics, digital ads, and presentations.
- Support brand campaigns through design and storytelling.
- Collaborate on social media content planning, including graphics, captions, and short videos.
- Help maintain consistency with JCHC brand guidelines across all channels and projects.
- Contribute creative ideas for campaigns, staff recognition, and community engagement initiatives.
- Assist with website and intranet content updates as needed.
- Provide general support for marketing projects, events, and communications, including occasional on-site photography, videography, or event setup.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Works in a well-illuminated, climate-controlled environment
- May come in contact with hazardous chemical or treatment modalities
- Possibility exists of exposure to communicable diseases
- Involvement in inpatient care may result in unavoidable work-related illness or injury
- Work environment is comfortable, with minimal exposure to physical hazards
- Moderate to loud noise environment when machines/equipment in use
- Involvement in checking in/moving of supplies may result in unavoidable work-related injury
- Must be constantly alert for patient/family emergency situations
