What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chief Information Officer position at Jefferson County Health Center?
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Leads technical design, planning, implementation, support, and maintenance of the organization’s network and information systems, while working to ensure that servers, databases, networks and desktop environments are supported to meet the organization’s business and clinical requirements. Facilitates the redesign and configuration of the network, operating systems, and system applications. Responsible for day-to-day management of the information systems department including policy and procedure development, project management, prioritizing projects, information security and internal controls, vendor management, department goals, and strategic planning. Identifies methods, solutions, etc. Provides leadership in a way that promotes a high level of information systems service to all users. Function as the Information Security Officer for the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, business, or equivalent, Master’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience maintaining an enterprise IT environment is required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Ability to conduct research into desktop, systems and network issues and products as required.
- Working technical knowledge of Networking and Server/PC operating systems.
- Knowledge of applicable healthcare information security best practices and privacy practices and laws.
- Strong written and oral communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language to Administration and general staff.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong customer service orientation.
