JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
The Accounting Technician Performs technical accounting functions. Processes accounts payable and receivable transactions. Processes checks and reports. Generates and edits vendors in computer systems to facilitate tax records. Acts as liaison to vendors and county employees by responding to inquiries regarding accounts payable and accounts receivable. Maintains current signature authority files.
Schedule
This position operates on a hybrid schedule primarily working from home. It is a four-day work week, Monday through Thursday. Typically working 40 hours a week.
Compensation
Anticipated hiring salary: $25-$27.78 USD Hourly
Compensation will be determined based on education, experience and skills.

Essential Duties
- Generates new vendors in system and edits existing vendor information for tax accuracy.
- Maintains signature authority files. Prompts other departments to update signature authorities when necessary.
- Investigates and resolves accounting discrepancies.
- Compiles year-end accruals.
- Oversees account transactions by processing accounts payable activities.
- Maintains proper payment schedules.
- Ensures invoice accuracy, reviews payment batches, and processes accounts payable checks.
- Assists vendors and county employees with accounts payable inquiries.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience: Three years related experience
Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
- Bachelor degree in accounting or related field
- Knowledge of Workday
- Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of accounting terminology
- Data Entry experience
- A valid Colorado driver’s license is required for positions that drive on County Business in either a county or personal vehicle within 30-days of hire or beginning to serve as an intern or volunteer.
- Offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of criminal history, motor vehicle report, education verification, and/or references for all positions.
