The Jefferson County Board of Developmental Disabilities is seeking a dedicated Intervention Specialist with a Transition to Work (TTW) endorsement to lead our new Transition to Work program. This program supports students aged 18–21 as they leave high school, helping them gain real-world job skills, connect with employers, and successfully transition into the workforce — all while promoting community integration and following Ohio’s Employment First principles. Intervention Specialist - TTW Job Details:
- Develops, implements, and monitors individualized transition plans for students aged 18–21 with disabilities
- Provides direct support, guidance, and coaching to students in work-based learning and employment settings
- Plans and implements instructional programs and documents progress on program goals and/or objectives
- Collaborates with local high schools, families, employers, and community organizations to identify and secure employment opportunities
- Coordinates and facilitates job readiness training, including vocational assessments, resume preparation, interview skills, and workplace expectations
- Tracks student progress and outcomes, maintaining accurate records and reports in accordance with program and state requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of BS/BA in special education, intervention specialist or a related field is required
- Current ODE licensure
- Possession of Transition to Work (TTW) Intervention Specialist certification is required
- Required to maintain valid driver’s license and be insurable
- Willing to undergo physical examination and must complete BCI/FBI background checks.
