Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Current driver's license and ability to drive to work on company provided vehicle
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job (standing, walking, bending, lifting, etc.)
Direct Support Professional Job Details:
- Monitors and assists the adult developmentally disabled resident in daily living skills including but not limited to bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, oral hygiene, hair care and toileting
- Encourages residents to develop independent living skills inclusive of but not limited to changing clothes, proper clothing combinations, social behavior, room cleaning, home maintenance, washing clothes, table manners, money management and survival skills
- Provides mobility assistance as needed
- Prepares meals for residents, ensures that meals meet dietary needs
- Monitors health and safety of residents
- Provides first aid and health assistance as needed
- Performs delegated nursing services as required by programming
- Assists in managing challenging behaviors through appropriate techniques and strategies
- Provides emotional support and encouragement, fostering a positive environment for the residents
- Helps residents engage with peers and participate in community-based services
- Assist and encourage residents to meet the goals and objectives as outlined in the resident's Ohio Individual Service Plan (OISP)
- Maintains accurate documentation of daily activities, incidents, and progress in care as outlined in Ohio Individual Service Plan (OISP) goals
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance
- Performs other job-related duties as required
