Position Summary
The Jefferson County Attorney’s Office Child Support Division is seeking a highly motivated, responsible and skilled individual to work at our IT helpdesk.
· Respond promptly to tech inquiries or service requests via email, web-based IT management application, over the phone, or in person
- Walk end-users step-by-step through the troubleshooting process of computer hardware, software and VOIP systems
- Take the initiative to research new technical issues to find possible solutions and present findings to team prior to deployment
- Escalate service requests to next level of support when appropriate
- Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware (including network printers/scanners), and configuring systems and applications
- Record, track, and document the help desk request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution
- Maintain technical hardware inventory (monitors, computers, scanners, printers, etc)
- Interact with our technical partners at government agencies for troubleshooting and service requests
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and maintaining personal networks
- Build and deploy Windows golden image using Microsoft WDS
Skills and qualifications
· CompTIA A
· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
· Comprehensive knowledge and experience troubleshooting computer hardware, network, software and VOIP systems
· The ability to break down technological processes and deliver clear, step-by-step instructions to the end-user
· Patient, friendly demeanor with a great aptitude for listening
· Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
· Commitment to providing exceptional customer service with a focus on rapport-building
· Highly self-motivated and directed
· Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
Preferred qualifications and certifications
· Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher
· CompTIA Network
· CompTIA Security
· Tech savvy, with experience working in a tech-related field
· Ability to diagnose and resolve a variety of technical issues
· Team-oriented mindset with an openness to constructive feedback
· Eagerness to learn new technologies and systems
· Passion for problem-solving and customer service
· Experience working as an IT help desk technician or in a similar customer support role
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS AND/OR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position is located in the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office, Child Support Division, 1930 Bishop Lane, Suite 100, Louisville, KY 40218. Office hours 8:00am – 5:00pm. Daily use of computers. Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor and personal interaction with employees in department. Some lifting and physical movement of computer equipment.
Salary: $45,760.00 per year/$22.00 per hour (Funding is in whole or in part from federal, CHFS, or other state funds.)
