What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Preschool Teacher position at Jefferson Community College?
The Faculty-Student Association (FSA) of Jefferson Community College is seeking to hire a Preschool Teacher to provide a nurturing and safe environment for young children ages 3-5, where self-concepts are enhanced, independence is encouraged, and each child is individually respected. The Lead Teacher instructs children in activities designed to promote social, physical, emotional and intellectual growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
· Offering a Program that meets the physical, intellectual, creative, and social needs of both the individual and the group.
· Maintaining a good working relationship with team members, other Center staff, FSA and the College
· Providing continuity of care
· Handling frustrations appropriately
· Demonstrating an understanding of OCFS regulations and emergency procedures
· Demonstrating good judgment and decision-making skills
· Planning and utilizing time effectively
· Demonstrating good attendance and reliability
· Establishing and maintaining good communications with families
· Maintaining a professional atmosphere in the Center
· Working with the Watertown City School District to complete Units of Study, Teaching Strategies, and Second Step
Education and/or experience
An Associate degree in Early Childhood or a related field with the intention of pursuing a Bachelors. The right candidate should have at least one year of experience working with children in a childcare setting. They must also be willing and able to complete 30 hours of training every two years, as required by OCFS licensing, with 15 of those hours in the first 6 months of employment.

Pay: $17.00 - $25 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
