CLEANER (FULL TIME)

The Faculty-Student Association of Jefferson Community College is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting the campus community. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking individual to join our team as a Cleaner.

This is a full-time, 12-month position working 40 hours per week. The current schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. This evening shift offers a consistent weekday schedule so your days remain free for personal appointments, family responsibilities, or other commitments.

Position Summary

This position involves routine building cleaning and maintenance duties to help keep our campus clean, safe, and well-maintained. Work is performed under the direction of a supervisor following established cleaning procedures.

Responsibilities include:

• Cleaning classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and common areas
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces
• Operating cleaning equipment such as vacuums, carpet shampooers, and floor buffers
• Assisting with general maintenance of campus facilities
• Working cooperatively with co-workers, supervisors, and student employees
• Interacting with students, faculty, and staff in a friendly and professional manner

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who is dependable, enjoys staying active, works well with others, and takes pride in keeping spaces clean and welcoming. Experience with commercial cleaning is helpful, but a positive attitude and willingness to work and learn are just as important.

Applicants should also have:

• The ability to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions
• The ability to lift heavy objects and perform work requiring bending, climbing, reaching, and repetitive motion
• A willingness to perform routine cleaning and other physical tasks
• A willingness to work in environments involving dust, dirt, grease, and cleaning products
• The ability to work well independently and as part of a team

A high school diploma or GED is required.
