Are you a detailed-oriented, organized, and passionate about the healthcare industry? We are seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Billing and Coding specialist to join our team!
Responsibilities:
- Post daily charges of office visits, testing and procedures
- Verify and review insurance verification
- Review patient medical records, doctor's notes and other relevant documentation to accurately code diagnosis, treatments and procedures
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with coding guidelines, regulations and insurance requirements.
- Submit clean claims to payers and follow up on unpaid or denied claims
- Resolve patient billing inquiries and ensure timely payment collection
- Maintain confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with medical staff, billing team, and insurance companies to ensure smooth billing process
- Assist with any internal audits and quality control measures to maintain accuracy and efficiency
- Stay up to date on insurance changes, coding guidelines and regulations
Requirements:
- Certified Medical Billing and Coding Specialist (CMBCS) or equivalent certification preferred
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology
- Cardiovascular experience preferred
- Proficient in ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding systems
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR), Medent experience a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance
