Externship Program
Come experience a privately owned, progressive, AAHA accredited, 24 hour emergency practice where lives are saved every day!
Length: 2 weeks or longer for school required externships
Location: 4504 Outer Loop in Louisville, Kentucky. Home of horses, bourbon and a great food scene!
Opportunities:
- Work with highly trained and experienced LVT's and see how exciting emergency medicine can be
- Perform diagnostics, x-rays and discuss cases with our experienced LVT's and on the job trained assistants.
- Flexible scheduling during your two week stay with us. We are 24 hours and can accommodate any schedule.
- Observe or assist with surgeries such as foreign body, bloat, cystotomy, c-sections along with laceration repairs and other trauma cases.
- Observe ultrasound and echocardiogram with an experienced and seasoned veterinarian.
- Observe and follow hospitalized cases to see ongoing treatment and progress of the patients.
- Observe Technician Rounds of hospitalized cases and experience our excellent continuity of care.
- Observe and assist in triaging emergency trauma and internal medicine cases.
- We offer school required externships as well with the possibility of joining the team as a paid member.
Housing is available depending on availability. No pets please.
This is an opportunity that does not include monetary compensation for hours worked unless special arrangements are made.
