We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join our amazing, well trained team at our Clayton location, conveniently located at 104 Medspring Drive, Clayton, NC. This is a full-time position with either a 4.5 or 5 day a week shift.
By joining our fantastic team of providers and support staff, the Medical Lab Technician will utilize their laboratory skills with the following lab responsibilities:
Performing all laboratories testing according to CLIA and JMA guidelines.
- Assist in the maintenance of Quality Control Records.
- Assist in the providing lab training to new personnel and reviews, as needed.
- Assist in the process of Corrective actions as needed when problems are identified.
- Organize and submit proficiency testing as mandated by appropriate time lines.
- Identify when consultant’s expertise is needed.
- Update laboratory procedure manual according to the most current regulations as needed.
- Assist in facilitating lab meetings with clinical managers, technical consultants, and laboratory director(s).
- Retrieves and inputs all Laboratory/Radiology results into the EHR that are received
- Assist in the examination and treatment of patients to include: taking vital signs, obtain specimens, weight, height, head circumference, pulse oximetry, peak flows, vision and hearing screenings under the direction of team leads and supervisors.
- Appropriate telephone etiquette and ability to communicate effectively and accurately with caretakers.
- Consistently demonstrate accountability in the performance of laboratory technician/phlebotomy technician responsibilities.
- Support implementation and maintenance of electronic medical record system.
- Provide cross coverage for weekends and other facilities as required.
- Assure compliance with OSHA, CLIA, HIPAA and other regulatory agencies.
