The salary offered will take into consideration an individual’s experience level and qualifications. We are seeking a Java Backend Engineer to join our Fixed Income Front Office Technology team. The team develops real-time market data and analytics platforms used directly by hundreds of salespeople and traders globally. This role offers significant exposure to electronic trading, data analytics, and event-driven distributed systems that process 500 million messages per day.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team in the design and implementation of a global Front Office application, with a focus on real-time delivery and aggregation of large datasets;
- Own the full software development lifecycle for key components, from requirements gathering and architecture through implementation, deployment and production support;
- Improve and maintain the existing codebase;
- Collaborate with teams across business lines and global regions;
- Contribute to the firm’s agentic AI platform;
- Assist with design and code review;
- Provide second-line production support.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical discipline;
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills;
- Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly;
- Ability to work well with business managers, traders and developers.
- 2 years previous experience in a similar position;
- Building applications in at least one compiled language (e.g. Java, C ) deployed to a Linux environment;
- Messaging, event-driven and PUB/SUB architecture (e.g. Kafka, Solace, Ion, etc);
- Distributed caching (e.g. AMPS, Hazelcast, etc).

Salary : $125,000 - $160,000
