Job Description
Jefferies is seeking an Associate for its Real Estate Investments Trust (REITs) Equity Research team. This individual will analyze industry macro trends and company financials. Under the direction of REIT Senior Analysts, the Associate will be responsible for assisting in coverage of 10 stocks. The candidate will be part of a broader REIT team, which covers nearly every property type, and frequent collaboration with the rest of the team is expected. The Associate will build and maintain financial models and industry databases, ensuring correct and up-to-date information for research reports that are distributed to internal/external clients. The Associate will also work closely with Senior Analysts to write earnings reports, company reports, monthly/weekly publications and initiation of stock coverage reports. As part of this process, the associate will also review business and trade publications, annual reports, financial filings and other sources in order to gather, synthesize and interpret data on companies followed by the US REITs Team.
Over time, the associate will help communicate recommendations to sales, trading and clients. In addition, the associate will help develop marketing materials for clients, meet with management teams and attend industry conferences, when appropriate.
This position is located in New York City and coming into the office on a regular basis is required.

The salary offered will take into consideration an individual’s experience level and qualifications. Required Background
- 2-4 years of related experience, preferably in sell-side/buy-side equity research, investment banking, or real estate valuation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – strong excel skills are critical
- Ability to analyze and manipulate large data sets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail in terms of written work and financial modeling
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize & deliver in a time sensitive environment
- Ability to communicate and collaborate well in a team environment
- Bachelor’s degree with high GPA
- Strong academic background in accounting, finance, economics, and/or computer science.
- Strong interest in real estate and technology
- Real estate experience a plus
- Solid experience in business modeling and financial statement analysis
- MBA/CFA/CPA a plus; Securities licensing a plus (Series 7/63 and 86/87)

Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
