JMBM is seeking a highly qualified Docketing Specialist for the Los Angeles office. The successful candidate will have experience with calendaring, maintaining and monitoring dockets for updates, a keen attention to detail, as well as excellent organizational skills. We're also looking for a high degree of professionalism, the ability to work independently, and a collaborative mindset to thrive within our dynamic, high-paced docketing team.
Essential Duties
- Exercise strong coordination skills to enter and maintain data in the Firm's docketing and calendaring system.
- Apply your organizational skills to perform quality review of all docketing data.
- Harness your communication skills to prepare reports for legal assistants, attorneys, and the Management Committee and provide best-in-class service to assistants and attorneys.
- Employ your attention to detail to confirm dates via court websites and monitor all deadlines.
- Utilize your research skills to locate resource guides, rule codes, authorities, and numerous courts’ websites.
- Collaborate with IP to enter new trademark applications into the IP Docketing system (Pattsy Wave), maintain IP docketing data, and manage incoming inquiries from attorneys and secretaries.
- Deploy your problem-solving skillset to provide suggestions on how to improve department procedures and workflows.
- Stay informed of developments, procedures, and rules in the courts/forums where the firm practices to ensure up-to-date compliance.
- Engage with peers and other administrative teams to assist with overflow work, special projects, and miscellaneous other tasks needed to support the daily operations of the docketing function.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in litigation docketing required.
- Four-year college degree or equivalent.
- Familiarity with rules-based calendaring software required (ex. Compulaw or Milana).
Position: Non-Exempt
Location: Century City. 5 days onsite for the first week, then 5 days remote thereafter.
Salary: $75k - $95k base
