What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sewing Maintenance Mechanic position at JEFFCO FOAM LLC?
The sewing mechanic is responsible for maintaining the optimal functionality and ensuring periodic maintenance of our production machinery, including sewing machines, computerized and automated machines, computerized and automated cutting equipment, computerized and automated quilting machines, and tape edge sewing machines.
- Set up and configure each machine so that it is optimized for mattress manufacturing.

Adjust machinery as needed to support quality and production.

Complete daily preventative maintenance to reduce machine downtime.

Order, build and install sewing equipment to allow operator to perform daily tasks.

Recommend necessary upgrades and specialized machinery to enhance production and reduce costs.

Maintain spare parts inventory for all sewing equipment.

Test and document operation of all sewing equipment and keep a repair log.

Inspect and diagnose mechanical problems in machinery and equipment.

Lead safety first culture and help implement and ensure safety procedures are used throughout the facility.
