Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Truck Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of light, medium and heavy-duty trucks, trailers,generators, and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment using schematics and electronic testing tools.
- Conduct repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension components, shocks & struts, and HVAC systems.
- Oil changes on many types of vehicles and vessels.
- Lift and Rail gate PM.
- Fabricate parts or modify equipment as needed using welding, soldering, power tools, and hand tools to ensure proper fit and function.
- Maintain and repair farm machinery, excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other industrial equipment with precision.
- Execute tire service, wheel alignments, brake repairs, and suspension adjustments to uphold safety standards.
- Drive train, rear end, clutch, transmissions (auto and manual) trouble shooting and repairs.
- California 90 day BIT and Federal USDOT inspection.
- A/C trouble shooting and repairs.
- General maintenance for cabs and chassis.
- Troubleshoot electrical and fuel systems and perform automotive diagnostics to identify issues accurately.
- Automotive trade school degree, and certifications are helpful.
- CAT, Cummins and Navistar experience welcomed as well.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety regulations and company policies while providing excellent customer service to internal teams or external clients.
- Accurately complete written record of work diagnostics, repairs and performance.
- Maintain a clean work and shop area as directed by Safety SOP's.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy equipment operation and automotive repair; dealership experience is highly preferred.
- Must have own tools and a valid CDL, class A is a plus but not needed.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, air brake systems, HVAC units, and diesel engine repair.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiar with assembly and equipment repair processes.
- Ability to use power tools, hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and perform heavy lifting safely.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with strong problem-solving skills; customer service experience is advantageous.
- Valid certifications related to vehicle maintenance or heavy equipment operation are desirable; ongoing training in automotive diagnostics or service technician skills is encouraged.
- Good work habits and a can-do attitude are a must!
