What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Tech Full-time position at JEFF DAVIS HOSPITAL?
- Assist Facilities Director as requested with maintenance repairs, PM’s, corrective maintenance, renovation, evaluation of equipment, building systems and facility grounds including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and carpentry.

Assist Safety Officer as requested with inspections of related fire and building safety features and supporting the Security Program as needed.

Demonstrates knowledge and responsibility for the effective and safe use of all equipment related to job at hand.

Complete and report documents related to inspections and PM of equipment, related alarms, safety, and hazard checks for buildings and related grounds.

Assist Facilities Director on an as need basis 24-hour coverage or on-call assistance for physical plant and or facility if required.

Communicates any utility or equipment failure to Facilities Director and Safety Officer to comply with risk management.

Adheres to the requirements of the facilities Safety Management Plan. Follows established safety procedures and precautions when performing maintenance service.

Assist Facilities Director and Safety Officer supporting facility documents, storage, and record retention.

Comply with current Life Safety and DNV Physical Environment guidelines with assisting Facilities Director, Safety Officer, State, Accreditation Surveyors and Fire Marshal as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience in maintenance, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, building construction, plumbing and tools of the trade; preferred.
- Must possess strong oral and written communication, planning, problem solving, change management and extremely strong skills in personal diplomacy.
- Demonstrates personal traits of a high level of motivation, team orientation, professionalism and trustworthiness and places a high value on treating other with dignity and respect.
- Leadership skills; Industry knowledge, critical thinking, relationship building, ethical judgement, adaptability, quick thinking, analytical-planning, quantitative data and action.
