The initial work location for this position will be at our facility in Fort Montgomery, NY. Please note that our operations are scheduled to relocate to Middletown, NY in early 2026. Candidates must be willing and able to work in Fort Montgomery for approximately 6-8 months following their start date, and transition to the Middletown location once the move is complete.

Job Summary
The Armed Security Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of DreamFields' personnel, facilities, and assets in the state of New York. This position requires strict adherence to NYS laws regarding security guard licensing, training, and firearms certification. Officers will monitor facility access, conduct perimeter patrols, enforce SOPs, and provide a strong security presence to deter and respond to potential threats. Professionalism, discipline, and full compliance with regulatory standards are essential for success in this role.
Duties/Responsibilities
All licensing and training documentation must be verified before hire.
All armed security officers must meet the following NYS standards:
Security Guard Registration & Training (Required by Article 7A, Section 89-G):
Security shifts operate on a 2-week rotation as noted below.
Night Shift: Shifts run from 5:00 PM to 5:30 AM.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Secure the designated post with discipline, situational awareness, and professionalism.
- Monitor and manage access control, including screening visitors, employees, and guests.
- Conduct regular perimeter patrols and safety inspections throughout the facility.
- Respond promptly to onsite incidents and escalate according to established security protocols.
- Monitor surveillance systems to ensure safe operations and deter suspicious behavior.
- Verify the functionality of gates, doors, locks, surveillance equipment, and alarm systems.
- Maintain accurate shift logs and incident reports.
- Stay up to date with required training to remain in compliance with NYS licensing standards.
- Strong de-escalation, self-defense, and conflict resolution skills.
- Clear, professional verbal and written communication.
- Strong situational awareness and ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- High attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Must demonstrate reliability, discretion, and a commitment to safety.
All licensing and training documentation must be verified before hire.
All armed security officers must meet the following NYS standards:
Security Guard Registration & Training (Required by Article 7A, Section 89-G):
- 8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training (prior to licensing).
- 16-Hour On-the-Job Training (OJT) - must be completed within 90 days of hire if not already satisfied.
- 8-Hour Annual In-Service Training (required every calendar year).
- Valid NYS "Armed" Pistol License (must be 21 years of age with no felony or serious offense convictions).
- 47-Hour Firearms Training (must have valid unarmed security registration and NYS Pistol License to enroll).
- 8-Hour Annual Firearms Training (must be completed each year of armed registration).
- Fingerprinting, criminal compliance check, mental health review, and submission of character references and social media accounts are required as part of the licensing process.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in armed security, law enforcement, or military preferred.
- Experience in cannabis, high-risk environments, or regulated industries is a plus.

- Week one: Thurs, Fri, and Sat
- Week two: Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat
- Flexibility is required
- willingness to work nights is a MUST
- Weekend, evening, and holiday availability required.
- Travel may be required to cover multiple NY-based locations.
