Description

JE Technology Solutions is a designer and manufacturer of aircraft ground support equipment and specialized industrial platforms. We are seeking a detail-oriented and quality-driven Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) / Quality Welding Inspector to support welding quality assurance activities across fabrication and manufacturing operations.

This role is responsible for performing inspections of welded assemblies, supporting non-destructive testing (NDT) activities, ensuring compliance with AWS, ASME, and ISO quality standards, and helping maintain the highest levels of product integrity and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, technically proficient, and capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities

Welding Inspection & Quality Assurance

  • Perform visual inspections of steel and aluminum tack welds, weldments, and fabricated assemblies to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Conduct periodic non-destructive testing (NDT), including magnetic particle and liquid penetrant inspections, to verify weld integrity and structural compliance.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments and inspection tools to assess dimensional accuracy and weld quality.
  • Verify conformance to AWS, ASME, customer, and internal quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Document inspection results, nonconformances, and corrective actions accurately and thoroughly.

Quality Control & Continuous Improvement

  • Support quality audits, process reviews, and internal quality inspections.
  • Analyze inspection findings and quality data to identify trends, recurring defects, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to investigate quality issues and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Assist in improving inspection procedures, quality documentation, and manufacturing quality controls.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and quality-focused meetings.

Training & Compliance

  • Provide coaching, guidance, and support to welders and production personnel regarding welding quality standards and inspection expectations.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 quality standards and company procedures.
  • Promote compliance with all safety policies, PPE requirements, and regulatory standards.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support special inspections, customer audits, and project-specific quality requirements as needed.
  • Maintain inspection equipment, tools, and testing supplies in proper working condition.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience performing weld inspections and/or visual weld inspection activities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of documented Level II NDT inspection experience in magnetic particle and liquid penetrant testing.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS and ASME welding codes and standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, engineering drawings, and verbal instructions.
  • Familiarity with non-destructive testing techniques and mechanical measurement equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile electronic devices.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace, aviation support equipment, heavy fabrication, or industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with ultrasonic digital thickness measurement.
  • Familiarity with magnetic particle testing equipment and procedures.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience supporting root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Rope access certification or experience preferred.

Work Schedule

  • 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. based on business and production needs
  • 2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. based on business and production
  • Overtime may be required based on project schedules and operational demands.

  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to wear and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, respirators, welding PPE, harnesses, and steel-toed footwear.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing and fabrication environments for extended periods of time.

  • Exposure to industrial cleaning chemicals, testing materials, and inspection supplies.
  • Required PPE may include safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, respirators, fall protection equipment, and steel-toed footwear.
  • Fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing production priorities and deadlines.
  • May occasionally work in elevated areas, confined spaces, or active production zones while adhering to all safety requirements.
